The Rotary Action Group for Peace is so excited to welcome our new team member, Wendy Mitchell. Wendy will be serving as the RAGFP’s first-ever Development officer who will help us grow our organizational capacity and help us become more sustainable. She will be working closely with our Executive Director, Reem Ghunaim, and the  Fundraising Committee to secure, grow, and support the mission of the RAGFP.

Wendy has over 40 years of experience working in nonprofit development and philanthropy. She was a member of the senior management team at the 1000 Friends of Oregon, Director of Development and Community Relations at the World Forestry Center, and the Director of Development for the Portland Japanese Garden, among many other well-known organizations. Her charisma and drive to improve the world around her are unparalleled.

Early in her career, Wendy worked at UC Berkeley, where she spent 20 years in advancement and just fell in love with the work of development. Her love for the outdoors and gardens led her to Hawaii and eventually to Oregon where she has lived for over 20 years.

Wendy has master’s degrees in education and psychology where she used her specialization in child development and parent education to work as a child therapist. She discovered that she also obtained the skills to create a culture of philanthropy and has focused on nonprofit development ever since.
