RAGFP Founder Helps Boys & Girls Club Plant Peace Pole

The Rockwood Boys & Girls Club celebrated the installation of a Peace Pole Wednesday afternoon, July 18, alongside members of the community. Philanthropist Al Jubitz sponsored the Peace Pole for the club as part of the Rotary Action Group for Peace efforts dedicated to raising these monuments throughout Oregon. Across the region, the group has placed almost 200 poles in the past two years.

Quite often I drive along the stop-start Newport Road in Cardiff to visit my daughter. Two years ago, I remember noticing a fair-sized group of men sitting outside a fairly non-descript building. They were just chatting. When I got to work, I decided to find out what the building was used for and discovered it was a resettlement centre for refugees and asylum seekers. At the time I thought how sad it was to see these people just hanging around on a busy road-side, waiting for their cases to be researched and presented.

Finnish Peace Movement makes Plea for Nuclear Disarmament at Summit

Former MP, half a year as a activist of the international peace movement Iikka Taipale (SD), greeted the video with Russian and US presidents. According to the story, the video depicted on the balcony of the Old Student House is a salute of the Finnish Peace Movement to Trump and Putin. In his speech, Taipale tells President Trump that with his colorful speech he opened the Pandora magazine and let go of the ghost of nuclear disarmament. RI Convention Fellowship leads to Rotary Moment Story

During a Rotary Friendship Exchange in Southern India, several years ago, I experienced “My Rotary Moment.” We were travelling between Coimbatore and Tirupur when we stopped at the Sankara Eye Bank. We toured the hospital and visited the local Rotary project. Cataract surgery was being performed by 10 doctors in a large operating room with 10 patients lined up on operating tables all having their surgeries.

Art Competition Asks Children to Imagine World Peace
