The Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship program ended in Rotary Year 2012-2013. Beginning in Rotary Year 2013-14, The Rotary Foundation offers scholarship opportunities through district and global grants. This new grant structure gives Rotarians greater flexibility in sponsoring the next generation of leaders.

Global grants can be used to provide funding for academic studies provided that they:

  • Fund graduate-level study that relates to one or more of the areas of focus
  • Fund studies for a term of one to four academic years
  • Sponsor the academic studies of an individual traveling from the international sponsor district to the host sponsor district

More information:

District and Global Grants Scholarships will be administered by a new district leadership position called the District Global Grants Coordinator.

Rotary Foundation Global Grants can be used to fund scholarships with sustainable, high-impact outcomes in one of Rotary’s six areas of focus.

The minimum award amount from the World Fund for a global grant, regardless of activity type, is US$15,000, which results in a minimum total financing of $30,000.

For more information go to the the Rotary Grants website.

Please note:

Sometimes a candidate who applies for one type of fellowship or grant will be better suited for the other one – Rotary Clubs and Districts are encouraged to have regular and open communication on their respective applicants.

Global Grants Scholars cannot attend the same programs as Rotary Peace Fellows. For example, a Global Grants Scholar could not attend Bradford’s School of Social and International Studies.
