Ken Boyd was one of 17 Directors of Rotary International 2011-13 worldwide, and its Treasurer, handling hundreds of millions of dollars. In 2013, Ken received an Honorary Degree from Mashdots College in Los Angeles in the area of Humanitarian Services. As a District Governor, his District ranked first in the United States for per capita giving to the Rotary Foundation for Districts giving over $200,000.
In the establishment of the Benefactor program, his District ranked 2nd in the United States and 7th in the world. Rotary International has sent him to 48 countries to present the ideas of Rotary. He has spoken at several world peace conferences, including one important conference immediately after 911 in Cairo, Egypt. More recently, he presented at a conference involving Turkey and Armenia. This conference was instrumental in breaking the impasse between two countries that had stood for almost 100 years.
As Chairman of Rotary’s World Membership and Retention effort, he and his Committee conceived, developed and implemented a program that resulted in the largest single year’s growth in Rotary’s history; approximately 55,000 net new members and 1,158 new Clubs, but more importantly generated an estimated seven million hours of humanitarian service over the first five (5) years.
