From Bangkok to Bogotá, big city mayors around the world are acting to reduce climate change.

Whether it’s building better bus systems or conserving water, mayors from 59 climate leadership cities have doubled their efforts to reduce carbon emissions and improve resilience in the last two years, according to this infographic. The report comes from C40 Cities, a global network dedicated to reducing emissions and encouraging climate change leadership.

Here are some highlights:

  • 98 percent of mayors say climate change presents significant risk to their cities.
  • 90 percent of cities are improving their mass transit systems.
  • Solar energy is the most popular low-carbon and renewable energy source.
  • 80 percent of cities collect recycling waste.
